I See Nothing Wrong With This Little Black Kid In A Loin Cloth Presenting Coffee Beans at a Starbucks
I keep scrolling up to look and just snicker and laugh again. I don’t see the big deal about it. It’s not black face. It’s not being racist. I think it’s actually pretty accurate, right? Isn’t that who picks the beans, dark little Colombian kids? Seems almost like Starbucks is honoring the fine people who shimmy up the trees to get us our coffee beans for 13 cents an hour. It’s like how if Nike had a statue of a tiny Chinese kid at a sewing machine at Nike Store, holding up a pair of new Jordans for all to see. Authentic as it gets. It’s about time we starting paying our respects to those who make our products for us. For too long they’ve been pushed into the shadows. I want more of this, not less. Anyone who is offended by Starbucks trying to pay respect to those who make the world go round can kick rocks.
